Our four year old classes also participate in the state of Florida’s VPK program.

DIRECTOR - Susie Stull

I have had the privilege of being part of Maitland Presbyterian Preschool since 1998. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Roanoke College in Virginia and received my Director’s Credentials in 2012.  After spending 15 years teaching VPK I moved into the role of Associate Director for 5 years and then into the role of Director in 2017.  Along with an amazingly creative and supportive staff, I am committed to providing your children with a developmentally sound foundation and a positive, loving environment for them to grow and learn.

I have been in the education field for over 20 years.  I have my FCCPC certification and Director Credential with the state of Florida.  I joined the MPP family in 2018.  Before that I was a Curriculum Director and Assistant Director with another private school in the Orlando area.  I enjoy working with all ages but LOVE the challenge in the VPK age group. I am married with 2 children.  In my time away from school I enjoy the beach and reading.

Hi, my name is Gina Rickard. I live in Maitland with my husband and two children and have been at Maitland Presbyterian Preschool since 2008. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and previously taught 1st and 2nd grade for 11 years before taking time away to raise my children.  After staying at home with my children my love of teaching guided me back to the classroom.  I enjoy the curious nature and excitement this age group brings each day.

Hi, my name is Terri Rice.  I have 14 years experience teaching preschool.  I have my CDA from Seminole State College.  I really enjoy the imagination, energy, and wonderment of my students alongside Mrs. Rickard.  My husband and I have been married for 26 years and we have two children and live in the Tuscawilla area of Winter Springs.

VPK LEAD TEACHER - Beth Bromfield

Hi, my name is Beth Bromfield. I have a BA in Anthropology and worked in environmental education before my children were born.  Both my daughters went through the preschool here at MPP.

I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching at MPP since 2014.  I have taught all the age groups over the years but am currently with the VPK program.  My favorite part about being in the VPK class is watching how much the children grow and change during the time I have with them.  It’s incredible how they just soak everything in and really show their independence and abilities during this time.

VPK ASSISTANT TEACHER - Miranda Lovestrand

Hi, my name is Miranda Lovestrand and I am the assistant in Mrs. Bromfield’s VPK classroom. I am a mom to four children, Julia, Savannah, Morgan and Colton. I have always been very involved in their education and through that experience found a love for helping children learn. I am excited to continue learning and teaching at MPP.

Hi, my name is Jackie Wilson.  I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL.  I am a wife and mother to 3 children; Preston, Brinley, and Brock.  I came to Maitland Presbyterian Preschool in 2016 as an assistant with the 3 year old class and I was excited to transition my experience into the classroom and be part of the MPP team.  I became the lead teacher in the three year old class the following year.  I received my CDA and I am always looking for ways to better my teaching experience.  My desire is to have children love to learn while having fun.

Hi, my name is Heather Leader and I am the assistant in Mrs. Wilson’s 3 year old class.  I was born and raised in the Orlando area and have been married to my husband, Josh, for 11 years.  We have 3 boys and two of them attended Maitland Presbyterian Preschool!  I joined the preschool staff in 2016 and have loved working here! I love our little preschool family and I feel that the children allow you to be yourself and to get in touch with your inner child.  My goal is to make sure each child receives the best care and love that they all deserve.

Hi, my name is Melissa Carlson.  I graduated with a biology/chemistry degree in 1999 and worked as a microbiologist and quality control technician until I became a stay at home mom in 2009.  Once my youngest started school here at MPP I was able to be a substitute teacher.  I continued to sub until a full time position became available in the two year old class in 2019 and I worked in that position until I became the lead teacher in the three year old class in 2021.  I have three children; Olivia, Bennett and Max and all three of them attended school here at MPP and still talk about it and love to visit!  In my free time I like to read, workout, go out to eat with friends and shop.  I also enjoy a good pedicure!

Hi, my name is Amanda Garner and I have been at MPP as an assistant teacher.  I started out in the toddler class until I moved up to the three year old class in 2021.  My two children attended and graduated from MPP and our whole family really fell in love with the school and staff.  While my kids were here I started as a substitute teacher until I was able to get a position on staff!

TWO YEAR OLD LEAD TEACHER - Vanessa Hollingsworth

Hi, my name is Vanessa Hollingsworth.  I’m a wife and mother of two children; Jade and Alex.  I started working with children 15 years ago.  I left the field to become an office manager for 2 ½ years but decided I wanted to be back with this age group I love so much.  These young minds are smart, kind and eager to learn.  I have been honored to be the lead teacher in the 2’s at MPP since 2018.  I have my FCCPC credential and am enrolled in Seminole State College working towards earning my degree in Early Childhood Education.  When I’m not teaching I love spending time with my family, reading a good book, crafting or traveling.

Hi, my name is Eva Canterbury. I was born and raised in Florida. I am a wife and a mother of three children; Sam, Kaitlin, and Kallie. My youngest came through the three year old program and VPK. I worked here at Maitland Presbyterian Preschool in 2018 as a substitute while my daughter was here.  After that I decided to go back to school and am currently working towards my AA degree. Once I finish, I plan to get my bachelor’s degree to graduate with Early Childhood Education. I was honored to be giving the assistant teacher position for the two year old class in 2021. I love the two year old stage and I am looking forward to watching them grow.

Hi, my name is Gayle Hill.  I was born in Miami but moved to Maitland in 1973.  I have been married to my husband, Timm, for 26 years. We have two wonderful children, Ellie and Ethan and a grandson, Jameson.  I have been a nanny for two families for the last 17 years and have been at MPP since 2013.  I was an assistant in the 2 year old room for several years and then moved to the toddler room as an assistant before becoming the lead in the toddler room in 2018.  I love being with the toddlers because I feel they show the most growth in their early developmental stages and it’s very rewarding to watch a child go from stage to stage.

Hi, my name is Lisa Costa and I have lived in Maitland for 31 years.  I retired from Orange County Public Schools in 2016.  I am married to a wonderful husband and have two grown children.  I have been graced with an adorable grandson who is the reason I am here at Maitland Presbyterian Preschool.  He started here in the toddler room at 18 months old, so I was at the school quite a bit.  I loved the teachers and staff and the environment so  I started substituting at the preschool and was offered a position in the toddler room in 2018.  I love watching them grow and learn throughout the year and compare how much they have matured by the end of the school year.

Hi! My name is Samantha Lovell. I was born and raised in central Florida, and married my husband Nathan in 2013. We have three children (Tristan, Brayden and Josie) and all three of them have attended MPP! I came to MPP as a parent in 2016 and joined the staff shortly after as a substitute teacher. I am now very excited to be an assistant teacher in the toddler room! Before starting at MPP, I took some time off to stay home with my babies. Before that I was a private nanny, as well as an elementary school assistant teacher and K-12 substitute teacher. After working with kids of all ages, I can honestly say that this preschool age is my favorite!
