DIRECTOR - Susie Stull

I have had the privilege of being part of Maitland Presbyterian Preschool since 1998. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Roanoke College in Virginia and received my Director’s Credentials in 2012.  After spending 15 years teaching VPK I moved into the role of Associate Director for 5 years and then into the role of Director in 2017.  Along with an amazingly creative and supportive staff, I am committed to providing your children with a developmentally sound foundation and a positive, loving environment for them to grow and learn.

This preschool holds a special place in my heart.  Not only did my husband attended MPP when he was young but my two boys also graduated from the preschool!  I have my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Florida and taught Kindergarten right after college.  I also worked as an officer manager and property manager for several years before staying home with my two boys.  Once they started school I decided to go back to work in 2015 and was lucky enough to get a position at MPP as a 3 year old teacher when my youngest was still in the program.  I taught in that position for 2 years then became a VPK lead teacher for a short time before entering my role as the Associate Director.

Hi, my name is Gina Rickard. I live in Maitland with my husband and two children and have been at Maitland Presbyterian Preschool since 2008. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and previously taught 1st and 2nd grade for 11 years before taking time away to raise my children.  After staying at home with my children my love of teaching guided me back to the classroom.  I enjoy the curious nature and excitement this age group brings each day.

Hi, my name is Terri Rice.  I have 14 years experience teaching preschool.  I have my CDA from Seminole State College.  I really enjoy the imagination, energy, and wonderment of my students alongside Mrs. Rickard.  My husband and I have been married for 26 years and we have two children and live in the Tuscawilla area of Winter Springs.

Hi, my name is Lisa Brown.  I have been in the education field for over 20 years.  I have my FCCPC certification and Director Credential with the state of Florida.  I joined the MPP family in 2018.  Before that I was a Curriculum Director and Assistant Director with another private school in the Orlando area.  I enjoy working with all ages but LOVE the challenge in the VPK age group.  I enjoy helping the students prepare for kindergarten academically and developmentally.  I am married with 2 children.  In my time away from school I enjoy the beach.

VPK ASSISTANT - Beth Bromfield

Hi, my name is Beth Bromfield. I have a BA in Anthropology and worked in environmental education before my children were born.  Both my daughters went through the preschool here at MPP.

I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching at MPP since 2014.  I have taught all the age groups over the years but am currently with the VPK program.  My favorite part about being in the VPK class is watching how much the children grow and change during the time I have with them.  It’s incredible how they just soak everything in and really show their independence and abilities during this time.

Hi, my name is Heather Leader and I am the assistant in Mrs. Dixon’s 3 year old class.  I was born and raised in the Orlando area and have been married to my husband, Josh, for 11 years.  We have 3 boys and two of them attended Maitland Presbyterian Preschool!  I joined the preschool staff in 2016 and have loved working with Mrs. Dixon who I have known since Elementary School.  I love our little preschool family and I feel that the children allow you to be yourself and to get in touch with your inner child.  My goal is to make sure each child receives the best care and love that they all deserve.

Hi, my name is Jackie Wilson.  I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL.  I am a wife and mother to 3 children; Preston, Brinley, and Brock.  I came to Maitland Presbyterian Preschool in 2016 as an assistant with the 3 year old class and I was excited to transition my experience into the classroom and be part of the MPP team.  I became the lead teacher in the three year old class the following year.  I received my CDA and I am always looking for ways to better my teaching experience.  My desire is to have children love to learn while having fun.

Hi, my name is Katie Garlinger.  I am originally from South Carolina but moved to Orlando when I was 18.  I met my husband Steve and we have two children; Grace and Katelyn.  Both of my girls attended MPP. I enjoy swimming, spending time with my family and teaching!  I have worked at MPP since 2013 and have loved every minute of it.  I am excited to be working with Mrs. Wilson and getting to know and work with the children in our class.

TWO YEAR OLD LEAD TEACHER - Vanessa Hollingsworth

Hi, my name is Vanessa Holloingsworth.  I’m a wife and mother of two children; Jade and Alex.  I started working with children 15 years ago.  I left the field to become an office manager for 2 ½ years but decided I wanted to be back with this age group I love so much.  These young minds are smart, kind and eager to learn.  I have been honored to be the lead teacher in the 2’s at MPP since 2018.  I have my FCCPC credential and am enrolled in Seminole State College working towards earning my degree in Early Childhood Education.  When I’m not teaching I love spending time with my family, reading a good book, crafting or traveling.

Hi, my name is Melissa Carlson.  I graduated with a biology/chemistry degree in 1999 and worked as a microbiologist and quality control technician until I became a stay at home mom in 2009.  Once my youngest started school here at MPP I was able to be a substitute teacher.  I continued to sub until a full time position became available in the two year old class in 2019 and I have been with this age group ever since.  I absolutely adore this age.  Two year olds are so curious and eager to learn.  They are so full of life and have such a contagious positive energy around them that it is hard not to be in a good mood all day.  I have three children; Olivia, Bennett and Max and all three of them attended school here at MPP and still talk about it and love to visit!  In my free time I like to read, workout, go out to eat with friends and shop.  I also enjoy a good pedicure!

Hi, my name is Gayle Hill.  I was born in Miami but moved to Maitland in 1973.  I have been married to my husband, Timm, for 26 years. We have two wonderful children, Ellie and Ethan and a grandson, Jameson.  I have been a nanny for two families for the last 17 years and have been at MPP since 2013.  I was an assistant in the 2 year old room for several years and then moved to the toddler room as an assistant before becoming the lead in the toddler room in 2018.  I love being with the toddlers because I feel they show the most growth in their early developmental stages and it’s very rewarding to watch a child go from stage to stage.

Hi, my name is Lisa Costa and I have lived in Maitland for 31 years.  I retired from Orange County Public Schools in 2016.  I am married to a wonderful husband and have two grown children.  I have been graced with an adorable grandson who is the reason I am here at Maitland Presbyterian Preschool.  He started here in the toddler room at 18 months old, so I was at the school quite a bit.  I loved the teachers and staff and the environment so  I started substituting at the preschool and was offered a position in the toddler room in 2018.  I love watching them grow and learn throughout the year and compare how much they have matured by the end of the school year.

Hi, my name is Amanda Garner and I have been at MPP as an assistant teacher in the toddler class since 2019.  My two children attended and graduated from MPP and our whole family really fell in love with the school and staff.  I started as a substitute teacher while my kids were here and then I moved into the toddler room as an assistant.  I especially love being with the toddlers because they are so eager to discover new things and they learn so quickly.  It’s so much fun to see the changes in them from week to week!
