Maitland Presbyterian Preschool is licensed with the state of Florida Department of Children and Families.  Every staff member has completed the 45 hours of mandated training in Early Childhood Education, has a First Aid and CPR certification and many of our teachers have either a four year college degree or a C.D.A in early childhood education.  Our well-trained staff uses knowledge of child development to plan and implement a quality program that is child centered and will support achievement of school readiness skills.  Our staff is fingerprinted and has undergone local, state and federal background checks. Our four year old classes also participate in the state of Florida’s VPK program.

DIRECTOR - Susie Stull

I have had the privilege of being part of Maitland Presbyterian Preschool since 1998. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Roanoke College in Virginia and received my Director’s Credentials in 2012.  After spending 15 years teaching VPK I moved into the role of Associate Director for 5 years and then into the role of Director in 2017.  Along with an amazingly creative and supportive staff, I am committed to providing your children with a developmentally sound foundation and a positive, loving environment for them to grow and learn.

I have been in the education field for over 20 years.  I have my FCCPC certification and Director Credential with the state of Florida.  I joined the MPP family in 2018.  Before that I was a Curriculum Director and Assistant Director with another private school in the Orlando area.  I enjoy working with all ages and love the supporting our amazing staff.

VPK LEAD TEACHER - Miranda Lovestrand

Hi, my name is Miranda Lovestrand and I am a lead teacher in the VPK program. I am a mom to four children, Julia, Savannah, Morgan and Colton. I have always been very involved in their education and through that experience found a love for helping children learn. I am excited to continue learning and teaching at MPP.

Hi, my name is Terri Rice.  I have 14 years experience teaching preschool.  I have my CDA from Seminole State College.  I really enjoy the imagination, energy, and wonderment of my students alongside Mrs. Lovestrand.  My husband and I have been married for 26 years and we have two children and live in the Tuscawilla area of Winter Springs.

VPK LEAD TEACHER - Beth Bromfield

Hi, my name is Beth Bromfield. I have a BA in Anthropology and worked in environmental education before my children were born.  Both my daughters went through the preschool here at MPP.

I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching at MPP since 2014.  I have taught all the age groups over the years but am currently with the VPK program.  My favorite part about being in the VPK class is watching how much the children grow and change during the time I have with them.  It’s incredible how they just soak everything in and really show their independence and abilities during this time.

Hello my name is Sara Thornton and I've worked in the education world for a bit over a year now. I grew up in Debary, FL but I also spent many months out of the year in Atlanta as well so I like to say I'm from both. I am currently enrolled in Seminole State College with plans to get my bachelors in education. I recently moved to the Maitland area with my husband and cat and I've worked with children all my life, whether that was babysitting or running summer camps. I enjoy working with children and seeing their minds and selves expand and grow! I'm so excited to work and become a part of the MPP family!

Hi, my name is Jackie Wilson.  I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL.  I am a wife and mother to 3 children; Preston, Brinley, and Brock.  I came to Maitland Presbyterian Preschool in 2016 as an assistant with the 3 year old class and I was excited to transition my experience into the classroom and be part of the MPP team.  I became the lead teacher in the three year old class the following year.  I received my CDA and I am always looking for ways to better my teaching experience.  My desire is to have children love to learn while having fun.

Hi, my name is Heather Leader and I am the assistant in Mrs. Wilson’s 3 year old class.  I was born and raised in the Orlando area and have been married to my husband, Josh, for 11 years.  We have 3 boys and two of them attended Maitland Presbyterian Preschool!  I joined the preschool staff in 2016 and have loved working here! I love our little preschool family and I feel that the children allow you to be yourself and to get in touch with your inner child.  My goal is to make sure each child receives the best care and love that they all deserve.

Hi, my name is Amanda Garner and I have been at MPP since 2019. While my kids were here I started as a substitute teacher until I was able to get a position on staff!  I started out in the toddler class until I moved up to the three year old class in 2021. I am currently an assistant in the VPK program and have loved every age I have taught.  My two children attended and graduated from MPP and our whole family really fell in love with the school and staff.

Hi! My name is Alyssa Swigert and I am looking forward to my upcoming journey with MPP.  I have lived in the Orlando area my whole life and enjoy going to the beach in my free time.  I am currently pursing my bachelor's degree at UCF.  I started at MPP as a substitute teacher before taking the assistant position in the three year old program. This year I am the assistant in the 2 year old class and I'm really looking forward to a great school year!

Hi, my name is Gayle Hill.  I was born in Miami but moved to Maitland in 1973.  I have been married to my husband, Timm, for 26 years. We have two wonderful children, Ellie and Ethan and a grandson, Jameson.  I have been a nanny for two families for the last 17 years and have been at MPP since 2013.  I was an assistant in the 2 year old room for several years and then moved to the toddler room as an assistant before becoming the lead in the toddler room in 2018.  I love being with the toddlers because I feel they show the most growth in their early developmental stages and it’s very rewarding to watch a child go from stage to stage.

Hi, my name is Lisa Costa and I have lived in Maitland for 31 years.  I retired from Orange County Public Schools in 2016.  I am married to a wonderful husband and have two grown children.  I have been graced with an adorable grandson who is the reason I am here at Maitland Presbyterian Preschool.  He started here in the toddler room at 18 months old, so I was at the school quite a bit.  I loved the teachers and staff and the environment so  I started substituting at the preschool and was offered a position in the toddler room in 2018.  I love watching them grow and learn throughout the year and compare how much they have matured by the end of the school year.

Hi my name is Tiffany Hill.  I am married and have 5 amazing children.  I have been a stay at home mom and have volunteered with PTSA, Pop Warner and my church over the past several years.  I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors in nature and football!  I am a toddler assistant two days a week and also a three year old assistant the other three days.  I love being part of the MPP family!

Hi! My name is Jennifer Jarel and I am the youngest of three sisters. I have lived my whole life in Miami until this current school year. I now live in Winter Park, FL and it was the best decision of my life! I’m excited to be working with the MPP staff and families and looking forward to all of the memories and experiences that will be created here. I currently attend Lake Howell High School and plan to attend UCF this upcoming summer to pursue a major of psychology in order to become a child psychologist. I have worked with children in a preschool setting for about a year and a half prior to moving. I loved what it has taught me and made me realize what my true passion is: working with kids!
